New Church Starts in 50 Days!
Dear Praying Amigos,
On October 6th, 2007, in about 50 days from mid-August, we will start our next church here in Brazil. This church will be our fourth church plant here in Brazil and our second church plant in the city of Londrina.
At the time of this writing (July 30th, 2007), we have purchased 100 new chairs for the work, we have rented a building to hold the services in, we have a Brazilian pastor that will be working with us at this work, and we currently have three weekend evangelistic campaigns scheduled for the first three weekends in October. My goal is to schedule 6 consecutive weekend conferences for the first six weekends of this new church. We also plan to print up and pass out 5 to 10 thousand invitations for each weekend conference. Pray as we make the final preparations and as we launch this new church plant. For more information on this work, check our website at www.victoryinlondrina.com .
One addition for the new work that we did in the last few days was that we put up a 17 feet tall sign on the new church property. It has our church logo and our church name.
Home Bible Studies
In August and September, we will be starting area wide Bible studies in homes in five different locations. These Bible studies will be evangelistic. We already have unsaved families that have committed to come to some of these groups. Pray as we have this evangelistic emphasis at our main church.
Church’s Fifth Anniversary
On September 16th, we will commemorate our current work’s fifth anniversary. We started in a living room with 30 chairs five years ago. Now we are starting a daughter church. In that service we will baptize some new believers and we will recognize our new deacons of this church.
BMM´s Medals for Glory
Rio de Janeiro hosted the Pan-American games during the month of July. There were athletes from 44 different countries. Baptist Mid-Missions in the USA and in Brazil planned a special event to do street evangelism and pass out flyers. Our daughter Rachel and her grandfather, Joe Boggs, attended there and helped pass out 10,000 flyers a day during the 20 days they were there. My father-in-law led two people to the Lord on the streets of Rio de Janeiro. Thanks for your prayers for their safety and for the Lord’s blessing upon their ministry there in Rio during the month of July.
Pray for the New Church Plant in Londrina.
